About Sarah King
Process is vital to me as an artist and a mother.
Elements from my daily life as a mother and woman
become food for my work.
Within this new body of work I have focused on my role
as a mother, daily rythms and ritualistic daily chores.
Basically the dirt and hard graft.
I see dirt as a metaphor for pain and trauma in life and have used
cleansing and washing as a vehicle to explore this.
We can wash and clean but some stains are so stubborn and penetrated so deeply that they are with us for life,
no matter how hard we scrub.
